New Glazed Mini Doughnuts

Simply Doughnuts is proud to announce the launch of its new range of Glazed Mini Doughnuts.

They are available in two flavours:

Building on the popularity of our Ring Bake Doughnuts, the new products are made using the same cake-based recipe. They are first steamed for softness and then baked – a process that produces a light, extra-fluffy texture.

They are free from nuts, suitable for vegetarians, and VAT-exempt.

They key differences are size and packaging. The new Glazed Mini Doughnuts are much smaller but, with 8 fun-size rings to a carton, they are great for sharing.

They are supplied in clear tubs with lids that are easy to open and re-close – a feature that helps to prevent mess or stickiness when eating ‘on the go’.  The packaging is fully recyclable and, left unopened, it keeps the doughnuts fresh and tasty for up to 60 days.

In comparison to conventional doughnuts, which typically last only 2 days in ambient conditions, these long shelf-lives give retailers far more time to sell. This, in turn, minimises the risks of food waste and associated commercial losses.

The Glazed Mini Doughnuts come with sugar sprinkles and a choice of flavoured glazes. From August 2026, they will be available to retailers in shelf-ready trays containing 12 individual cartons.

New Protein Doughnuts

Simply Doughnuts is proud to announce the launch of its new range of Protein Doughnuts.

They are available in a choice of three flavours:

  • Cookies & Cream
  • Hazelnut Swirl
  • Triple Choc

They are individually wrapped and offer shelf-lives of 9 months in ambient conditions. As with all our products, their longevity greatly reduces retailers’ risks of waste-related losses.

Importantly, our Protein Doughnuts are baked rather than fried, and they contain no added sugar.  The Triple Choc flavour has a Nutri-Score rating of A while the others have a rating of B. None of them exceeds the HFSS threshold, meaning that retailers should face fewer restrictions in terms of product promotions and placement.

Responding to a growing consumer preference for foods containing more protein and less sugar, each of the three variants contains 11.25 g of protein per doughnut.

They are suitable for vegetarians, free from palm oil and GM ingredients, and available to retailers in shelf-ready trays containing 8 individual packs. Their packaging is fully recyclable and they are VAT-exempt.

Notes:

Nutri-Score is intended to be a user-friendly summary of the nutritional data shown on food packaging. Its ratings range from ‘A’ (denoting healthier foods) to ‘E’ (denoting foods containing more fat, salt and/or sugar.) Our Protein Doughnuts achieve a rating of A or B. An ‘A’ rating is awarded to foods with a score of -1 or below. A rating of ‘B’ is awarded on scores of between 0 and 2.

The UK Government notes that products that are high in fat, sugar or salt (HFSS) should be subject to restrictions on their promotions and placement in retail stores. These include restrictions on “volume price (for example, multibuy offers such as ‘buy one get one free’) and location, both online and in store.” The restriction of HFSS products by location came into force on 1 October 2022. The restriction of HFSS products by volume price will come into force on 1 October 2025. Our Protein Doughnuts are not classified as HFSS products and are therefore not subject to such restrictions.
